About Christy
Christy Coleman is a Tennessee native, a Williamson County resident, public school parent, and businesswoman dedicated to the success of our school system. For the past few years, Christy has been very involved with the Williamson County school system not only as a parent but also by being actively engaged at school board meetings. She has proactively attended these meetings with the goal in mind of working with board members to ensure that the voice of our community - parents and citizens of Williamson County - are heard.
As a parent of a first grader enrolled in district 3 of Williamson County's public school system, the current environment of our school board politics concerns Christy.
She believes that, if we do not take action to repair the damage caused by such divisiveness, we run the risk of not only failing our children but also the community at large. Christy is passionate about fostering a more unified community through steering the board back into taking productive action to strengthen our schools and by working together as parents and citizens.
Our District needs a board member that has the leadership skills to listen to the needs of the community and voice those needs respectfully and assertively as an advocate for the community and the best interests of our children, rather than trying to push his or her own agenda. Christy Coleman is that candidate.
We need to bring our school board's focus back on supporting our children's academic success through leadership dedicated to the needs of our growing community. Along with her passion for the success of our public schools, Christy's diverse professional background in business project management, business process improvement, public speaking, IT strategy, and complex data analysis will help her to lead our school board toward making informed and necessary decisions based on the needs of our children, parents, administration and the community. She currently works for Mars Petcare as the Sales Technology Specialist managing discovery to production solutions for the sales team. Christy is dedicated to the success of our children and community and will utilize her professional experience to strive for building consensus and working together with the school board, administrators, educators, parents, and the community as a whole. Christy was born in Nashville, TN where she graduated from Hume Fogg in 2000. She spent the next year interning at Teen Mania Ministries Honor Academy and doing missions overseas in India. She attended Volunteer State Community College from 2002 to 2004 where she majored in Political Science and History and became a member of Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society. Christy has been a resident of Spring Hill, TN since 2012. She lives with her 7 year old son and their furry family, and currently is attending a church in Nashville open to multiple faiths. |
