We shouldn't need a lobbyist, but it has become a necessary evil. If we are going to use a lobbyist I would like to see him or her well regulated and providing accountability back to the school system and tax payers.
Goals need to be established up front such as:
Secure an additional xx% when talking to state legislatures about BEP funding.
State Standardized Testing - push for legislation that clearly defines the scope of data required back to the state and parameters on how much testing can be pushed down to the district.
These expectations should be made public so that there is full transparency on what we are paying someone to fight for.
